Looking at their archives, it looks like it's all about research papers and technical little details. Some of it could be interesting but overall not worth the money imo.

If you plan on going as a student, you're probably better off applying as a volunteer. Do some work at the conference and reap the benefits of attending some of the lectures.

The previous topics look interesting to me. Generally, this is the type of conference I prefer going to (same as BSDCAN), ie.: purely technical, with a tutorial component either before or after the conference.

Attending these conferences is a nice change from just learning technical stuff on your own...
